The choice of the power of the LED high bay that we have to install will directly influence the light level obtained. Consumption watts are important, but not only, we must also take into account:
- LED efficiency.
- Losses caused by optical closure or lenses.
- Driver power factor.
The more energy converted and emitted as visible light, the less power will be required to reach a certain level of comfort.
Also important are the degrees of opening of the light beam, an opening high bay at 90º will give us much more intensity just below it but a lower level of light between two installed high bays. A LED high bay with 120º opening will bring just below it a lower light level than a 90º high bay of the same power but on the contrary, greater uniformity, avoiding the partition of the shadow bands between the high bays LED. The regulations require a level of uniformity Emin / Emax> 0.40 for interior spaces.
Therefore, carrying out a light study with an LED high bay model does not imply that the said study complies with all LED high bays of the same power but from different manufacturers.
To simplify your decision-making from LED high bays, we have designed an ONLINE application in which, in just four steps, you will be able to know the power and uniformity you need to be satisfied and comply with regulations .
